You must schedule an appointment to submit electronic fingerprints to complete a background check. Fingerprints are required by the Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner to ensure that applicants do not have a disqualifying criminal or social services background that would prevent them from being a licensed insurance agent.
Resident candidates taking an insurance exam for the first time must undergo fingerprinting. If you already hold an active insurance license with the Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, you may not need to submit a new set of fingerprints. For the most up-to-date requirements, we recommend contacting the Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner directly.
When registering with IdentoGo, the fingerprinting vendor, you must enter the service code 2TGJ6B to proceed. For detailed fingerprinting instructions, refer to Step 9 on the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner website.
